Sarah
Community Engagement Officer
Being around animals has always been the main focus throughout my life. As a young girl, I lived in a small village and I would sneak cat food out with me so that I could feed the local barn cats. I have a BA (Hons) in Wildlife & Media and a Level 3 Diploma in Animal Care & Welfare. Since university, I have travelled to several countries to volunteer in various animal roles, whether that be on a Natural Horsemanship ranch or helping to care for 40 feral cats! I’ve also ran my own dog and cat sitting business for the past 6 years.
I was initially a volunteer at Oak Tree and I loved getting an insight into the fantastic work they do. When I heard there was a position coming up in their community team, I was so excited. Every day is different in this role, myself and Julie have lots of fun! I love helping feral cats in Cumbria through our TNR programme and assisting in getting pets fostered through our A Helping Paw scheme.
