Vicki
Training & Behaviour Assistant
Vicki knew from a young age that she wanted to work with animals in some capacity and has been lucky enough to do so for the past 18 years. When Vicki was still in school she started volunteering at another local Rescue Centre to gain hands on experience and absolutely loved it. Helping animals that have no-where else to go and finding them their forever homes is such a rewarding job. After years of volunteering Vicki was offered a paid position 11 years ago and started working there full time.
Over the years Vicki has developed a particular interest in dog training and behaviour, it fascinated her and it quickly became her favourite part of the job. Her confidence and knowledge have grown with getting to work with the huge variety of dogs that came into the Rescue and when she saw the chance move to Oak Tree and concentrate on Training and Behaviour work full time, whilst still staying in the Rescue sector, she jumped at it.
Vicki spends most of her spare time with her own dog Reef, he's an 18 month old German Shepherd cross. Vicki and Reef enjoy going walking together and they are currently attending classes and training him in competitive obedience, which he absolutely loves.
