Volunteer Application Form

Whether you want to develop new skills, make use of existing skills or are just passionate about helping animals and your community we need your help!

Flexibility is key to our success so we offer a variety of shifts and roles; whether you want to stay behind the scenes donation sorting, researching treasured items, have a creative flair for arranging displays or be customer facing on the shop floor, we would love to hear from you. All our teams are friendly and supportive and should you need to develop your knowledge or skills in a particular area training will be given. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of our friendly teams to ensure the smooth running of our charity shops.

Our shops

Please tell us which shop you would like to volunteer at in your application form...

Tasks include

• Donation sorting
• Steaming clothes
• Replenishing stock in the shop
• Creating displays
• Operating the till
• Offering great customer service
• Cleaning and tidying the shop
• Researching / selling treasured items online (Carlisle only)
• Wrap, pack and dispatch parcels (Carlisle only)
• Sometimes assisting with events

What attributes are we looking for?

• Good customer facing skills; friendly and approachable
• Strong interest in animal welfare, along with an understanding of animals within the rescue environment
• Happy to work alone or as part of a team
• Ability to take instruction, as well as good verbal communication skills
• Enthusiastic and self-motivated
• A calm, positive and friendly personality
• Comfortable using the till with appropriate training
• Confidence with computers where required

Shifts Available

Our shops are open 7 days a week so we can be flexible with shifts; however for many roles we will require a minimum of 3 hours.  Please ensure you indicate on your application form your availability
