Description

Handsome Harley is a bouncy and people loving Trailhound who is searching for his new home. He was surrendered to us as unfortunately he wasn't suitable for hound racing.

He is 2 years old and has so far has only lived in a kennel environment. To test how he would be in a home, one of our staff members took him home for a couple nights. We found he was very affectionate with everyone he met including other dogs. Despite never being in a house, he only had one accident and was very quick on learning where to go. He did prefer to stick close to his fosterer so time alone would need to be built up.

Harley lacks basic training but is slowly getting the hang of walking nicely with the help of positive reinforcement and tasty treats. He would be perfect for someone who is actively looking to train a dog.

This lively lad has been around children but not inside a home. Due to his jumping up behaviour, we would recommend he was re-homed with older children.

WE HAVE MORE DOGS IN NEED

On average, we have 400 animals come into our shelter every year. Please take a look at some of our dogs looking for loving homes and see if you can find a friend for life. Where appropriate, all of our animals are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. We also give each animal a behavioural assessment to identify their needs and help you find your perfect companion.
