Description
Esky is our wonderful 9-year-old cob gelding, bursting with charm and a friendly demeanour! He’s easy to catch, groom, bath, clip and stands well for the farrier. He can be nervous of the vet particularly if needles are involved, however, through positive reinforcement training he is gaining confidence each visit.
Esky thrives in company when hacked out, he will nap if alone. He is good with smaller vehicles and cyclists but lacks confidence with larger machinery and we have found it best to stand him in a safe place where he can see the vehicle and be reassured. Esky loves a good gallop and has proven safe to ride both in the arena and open spaces with a competent jockey. He enjoys polework, jumping and recently popped a few cross country jumps in the field.
Although Esky is a small pony, we feel he would be better suited to a small adult or competent teen who is able to continue giving him confidence with his ridden work.
Esky gets on well with both mares and geldings. Currently he is turned out throughout the day in a mixed herd and stabled overnight. Esky loves his food and would benefit from a home where grazing can be restricted when needed.
