Sherry
Owned by Barbara and Robin
I had originally been a fosterer for Sherry but we fell in love with her and decided she needed to live with us forever. Sherry was a big white elderly cat who was a bit grumpy in the cattery, so we fostered her in the hope that she would be happier, which she was, and settled in on day one. She did come back to Oak Tree to feature on Look North to raise the profile and encourage people to adopt older cats. She was so well behaved and took only one take to do the slot - that was Spring 2018. Well our hearts are broken and I am so sorry to tell you that our beautiful girl went over the rainbow bridge on 30th July aged 17 and two months. She looked utterly beautiful and bright and so well even though she was diagnosed with an adenocarcinoma in January. The treatment options were far too severe for a lady of her age so we opted for palliative care. She was comfortable and had a lovely Summer. We went for lots of trips out in the car where she would sit on the front seat and get chauffeured around. My brother-in-law has a quiet farm and planted a wild flower meadow at the front of the house and we would go there where she would explore and sunbathe. This is now her resting place. The vets Pip and Jo at Eden Vets have been outstanding in their care and support, and Sherry has not suffered any pain. She has been so content with us and we are so so grateful that you chose us to foster and adopt this very special brave lady.
